What we offer

Five ways we treat shoulder and elbow problems.

From a first physical therapy visit to complex reconstruction — matched to what your shoulder actually needs.

Nonoperative Care
Physical therapy plans, activity modification, bracing, oral medications, and in-office injections — always our first consideration when appropriate.
Arthroscopic Surgery
Minimally invasive repair of rotator cuff tears, labral injuries, and instability — small incisions, faster recovery.
Shoulder Replacement
Anatomic and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty using the latest implant designs, matched to your anatomy and activity goals.
Complex Reconstruction
Revision arthroplasty, glenoid bone grafting, and tendon transfers for the most challenging shoulder problems.
Sports Medicine
Treatment and surgical repair of tendon injuries — rotator cuff, biceps, triceps, and pectoralis tears — to restore strength and get athletes back to performance.

Our approach

How we choose your treatment.

The same four-step process behind every treatment plan, whether it ends with a home exercise sheet or a surgery date.

1
Evaluation & imaging
A hands-on exam and a review of any prior imaging, plus new X-rays or MRI in office when needed, to identify exactly what's causing the problem.
2
Nonoperative trial when appropriate
Most shoulders improve with physical therapy, activity modification, or a targeted injection before surgery is ever discussed.
3
Surgical planning if needed
If nonoperative care isn't enough, Dr. Patel walks you through the least invasive procedure that can actually solve the problem — and why.
4
Recovery & therapy protocol
A structured, procedure-specific therapy protocol guides your recovery, coordinated with your physical therapy team.
Our philosophy

Conservative when we can. Decisive when we must.

We don't recommend surgery you don't need. We start with what works — therapy, targeted injections, regenerative options — and reserve surgery for cases where it offers the clearest, most durable result.
